How Much Does a Tarot Reading Cost?

A plain answer to what a tarot reading actually costs, what the difference between cheap and expensive is, and what you get with Ren Levy.

The honest answer is: it depends what you are buying. Tarot reading prices range from a few pounds for an automated card-pull app to several hundred for a long in-person session with an experienced reader. Most of what you are paying for is the reader's time, their skill, and the depth of what they actually give you.

I am Ren Levy, a third-generation tarot reader based in London. I work by email only. Here is a plain breakdown of what readings actually cost and why.

What email tarot readings typically cost

Email tarot readings from experienced independent readers generally run between $35 and $150 depending on the length and focus. Short readings of a few hundred words at the cheaper end, long detailed readings of two thousand words or more at the higher end. Anything significantly below that range is usually either automated, very short, or coming from someone with little experience. Anything well above it is usually a live session or a premium brand name.

My readings sit in the mid range. You can see exact prices on the readings page. What you are paying for is a reading I write personally, in full, two thousand words or more, about your specific situation. No templates, no filler, no AI-generated text. I read the cards myself and write what I actually get.

What affects the price

Length: a longer reading takes more time to write and covers more ground. A short focused reading on one question costs less than a full twelve-month spread or a detailed two-person relationship reading.

Focus: a general reading costs less than a specialist reading. A love and relationship deep dive or a career reading with specific questions is more involved than a broad life overview.

Format: live readings (phone or video) cost more than email readings because of the time involved. I work by email only, which keeps the price reasonable and gives you something written you can come back to.

Turnaround: some readers charge more for rush delivery. I deliver within 48 hours as standard, usually sooner.

Why I work by email

Email readings are cheaper than live sessions, but that is not the main reason I prefer them. A written reading is better for you in a lot of ways. You can read it on your own time. You can come back to it in a month when something shifts and check what it said. You do not have to perform composure in front of a camera. And I write better than I talk, so the reading itself is more precise.

Is a more expensive reading better?

Not automatically. Price is one indicator of experience and depth, but it is not the whole story. The questions to ask are: does this person write the reading themselves, how long is it, and are there real testimonials from people who came back with specific results. A cheap automated reading is worthless regardless of how it is dressed up. A genuinely written reading from an experienced reader is worth paying for.
